BETA 1.15

LATEST [RELEASE DATE]

Team (new!)

Build in the same project with your friends, live. Up to 4 people (you + 3).

  • Click Host a session, send your friends the code, they click Join.
  • Your PCs connect straight to each other. Nothing goes through a server. (How Team connects)
  • Friends get your project automatically. Paid stuff (like Poiyomi Pro) is never sent. They get a list of what to buy instead.
  • Everything shows up live: moving things, adding and deleting, components, materials, prefabs, avatars, lighting.
  • You can see each other. Everyone has a colored camera ball, and you can see what they have selected. There's chat, Alt+G to ping a spot, and Follow/Jump buttons.
  • New files can't be placed until everyone has them, so nothing shows up missing.
  • Closing Unity, a crash or a script reload won't end it. You rejoin by yourself.
  • All choices (trust scripts, what to share) are picked once before connecting.

Everyone in a session needs the same version.

Themes

Settings → Theme: Blue, Red, Orange, Gold, Green, Teal, Purple, Pink or Mono. The banners change color too.

Unity versions

  • Works on 2022.3.22f1 and 2022.3.6f1.
  • Avatar Compressor needs 22f1, so on 6f1 it skips it and tells you why.
  • On old 2019 projects the SDK turns itself off and tells you how to upgrade, instead of breaking your project.

Small stuff

  • The drag-and-drop box in the Ripper is easier to see.
  • The Team and Tools tabs show the right banners now.

BETA 1.14

[RELEASE DATE]

Uploading (important!)

Last time I fixed the upload security check, but I missed some files. More VRChat files had been changed to match our colors. They're all back to normal now. Please grab 1.14, even if you got the last one.

The build panel still looks like ours. It's done a safe way now, so it can't break uploading again.

New tools

  • Modular Avatar is built in. There's a Setup Outfit button in Tools. Put the outfit inside your avatar, click it, done.
  • Avatar Compressor is built in. One click adds it to your avatar. It makes your textures smaller when you upload.

Worlds!

The SDK works for world projects now. On a new project it asks if it's for avatars or worlds, and sets up the right one.

Animator

  • New layers start at weight 1.
  • New transitions are instant (no exit time, no fade). Great for toggles.

Old ones you already made are left alone. You can turn both off in Settings.

Ripper

  • See what shaders a file needs before you rip it. Click the arrow on a file and it lists every shader, plus whether you have it. Green means you have it. Red means you need it.
  • Rips are faster. Textures used to get processed twice. Now it's once.
  • Fixed the "path too long" error. Rip folder names are much shorter now.
  • You can open item files (.vrcb) and world files (.vrcw) too.
  • Ripper settings moved to the Settings tab.

Face tracking

I checked a ripped avatar with face tracking. It came through fine.
